There is a local restaurant that cooks bread sticks on wooden dowels. My kids love it and so I thought I would try and recreate it at home. I just use my
calzone dough recipe and then divide the dough into 10 balls, make long snakes and wrap them around a wooden dowel. Let the dough rise on the dowels for about a 1/2 hour, and cook on greased cookie sheets (I put 5 on each sheet) for about 25 minutes or until nice and brown at 350 degrees. Out of the oven, brush each roll with melted butter and garlic salt (1/2 cup melted butter and 1/2 teaspoon garlic salt.)
That looks very yummy. I'm sure the kids love them.
ReplyDeleteI should mention, you can re-use the dowels over and over again.
