Random Happenings around here

**Today, I took Toothsome #4, who doesn't start preschool until next week, to the Olympic Fountain with two of her best friends and their mothers.  Guess what?  It was closed!  I have never seen it closed even in the dead of winter.  Fortunately, some nice lady told us about this place.  It took us about 40 minutes to find it (if only she had told me it was close to the airport out there, which I know because my husband has to take his airplane out there to be "checked" every few years), but it was worth finding it and we had a great afternoon.  I highly recommend it.  We even had Cafe Rio for a late lunch.

**I did the best birthday party ever for my kids.  Our neighborhood pool lets you rent the whole, huge place out for two hours.  I gladly paid the fee (which really was surprisingly cheep considering that I made all four of my kids have this as their birthday party this year) and we celebrated everyone's birthdays together.  We invited entire families and Dentist husband threw out gold coins for the kids to dive for as the party favor.  We had about 60 people there.  It was a perfect, easy party and now I don't have to even think about putting on another party until March, unless I can convince everyone to do a group party at the pool next year.  If so, I don't have to think about a party until July or August of next year.

**Tonight, we saw the Boys of Bonneville movie as a family.  Our family has a great love of the Salt Flats and the Bonneville Speedway and it was a great way to spend an evening.  We even have a print my brother-in-law made that has simple line drawings of the land/speed winning race cars of the Bonneville speedway races framed on our wall.  I will take a picture later and post it.  (My brother-in-law is a graphic artist who worked for a company that made souvenirs for Utah companies and he came up with this idea.)

**We have had many family visiting and that will continue through Labor Day, when my nephew (the first of the grandchildren) gets married here in Utah.

**Football season is upon us and while I will NEVER let my sons play the sport, I LOVE to watch a good football game.  Go Cougars!  And, Go Broncos!

All the kids party at once. Hmmmm. Nope, it wouldn't fly around here. But I love the concept. Last year I did two parties in one day with the big old velcro wall.
