You look pretty well read to me.

I majored in Lit. and I read everyday and I have still only read 40 of those books. :( I'm like you, I have no interest in Stephen King although I understand that he is very gifted at moving a plot along. I like more character driven, introspective novels myself. There are quite a few favorites on this list although it is missing my two very favorites which are: Crossing to Safty by Wallace Stegner & Gilead by Marilyn Robinson.

Love Boxes: My degree is in English with an emphasis in linguistics. Book reading is a passion for me, usually reading about 2 books a week, even with 4 small kids.

Might I add, I have read The Red Tent and it is just not that great of a book. I do not understand why all of the fuss about this book.

I read The Red Tent as well, I was not impressed either and Lord of the Flies is one of the most ugly books ever written, but I loved quite a few of the others. I also really like histories. I just finished Undaunted Courage which I loved and The Bridge at Andau.. also very good.

I don't know how you got through linguistics, those classes killed me. Good job!
